A Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Sociology is an undergraduate degree program that delves into the study of human society, social behaviour, and the various factors that shape human interactions and institutions. It is a diverse and multidisciplinary field that explores topics ranging from individual behaviour to broader societal structures. It explores contemporary social issues and their impact on society. Students may examine topics such as poverty, racial and ethnic relations, family dynamics, globalisation, and social movements. Sociology intersects with other disciplines like anthropology, psychology, economics, and political science. It offers a lens through which students can critically examine and contribute to the understanding and improvement of the social world.
NOTE: Student will have an option to exit at the end of 6th semester(3yrs) to obtain a degree in Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Sociology
After successful completion of this program, students will have learnt how to analyze data and other information and communicate the same to various stakeholders. They will be able to critically analyze every situation, devise creative solutions and draw logical conclusions. Last but not the least, they will be equipped with problem solving skills.
