Kaziranga University Highlights Outstanding Academic Collaborations and Placement Records

Kaziranga University is well-deservedly once again in the spotlight for its unparalleled achievements in the 2019 academic year. In a Press Meet conducted on June 20th 2019 in Guwahati, the University highlighted its stellar placement records over the years and also threw light on some of its most prestigious academic collaborations and partnerships, unprecedented in the North East.

Conducted in the presence of several esteemed guests and dignitaries at the Gateway Grandeur Hotel, Guwahati, the Press Meet was attended by Shri Basant Khetan, Pro-Chancellor, Kaziranga University, Dr. P.K Mishra, Vice-Chancellor, Kaziranga University, Dr. Pulijala Srinivasa Rao, CEO – Apollo MedSkills, Mr. Parikshit Markanday - Business Head - TIMESPRO, Mr. Vinay N - Director (India), Silverpeak Global Pvt. Ltd. among several other distinguished guests. Dignitaries from Kaziranga University included Dean of the newly-established School of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Ashok Kayal, Former Professor and Head, Department of Neurology, Gauhati Medical College; Prof. Puranjoy Das, Dean of the Career Department & Placement Cell (CDPC) and Mr. Bobby Roy, Dean of Admissions and Marketing at KU.

The meet focused on the University's exceptional placement performance, and also highlighted its prestigious collaborative accomplishments. In line with its endeavour to establish profitable and working tie-ups with renowned business and corporate houses, academic & research institutes and professional industry partners, Kaziranga University has over the years, established several national and international collaborations to conduct one-of-a-kind courses and programmes for the students of the North East. This is with a view to guide, motivate and expose the students to hands-on learning approaches that are directly provided from experts in various fields, giving the students a chance to boost their research awareness, technical knowledge and skills. 

Some of these highly coveted and prestigious partnerships include those with IBM, Timespro, Safeducate, Assumption University (Thailand), TAL Brabo under TAL Manufacturing Solutions, BOSCH, National Institute of Construction Management and Research (NICMAR), SKF, Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), Numaligarh Refinery Pvt. Ltd (NRL), IL & FS Skill Development Corporation and ICICI Direct – in association with which KU offers several popular MBA and B.Tech courses and programmes.

More recently, Kaziranga University has also started its sixth academic school, the 'School of Health Sciences' in association with Apollo MedSkills, offering courses in Physiotherapy, Optometry, Dialysis, Operation Theatre Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology, Advanced Imaging Technology and Trauma, Emergency & Disaster Management. In terms of recent collaborations for MBA programmes, KU also has the distinction of offering a unique MBA in Event Management programme, conducted in collaboration with DNA Networks and Team I, the renowned Bangalore-based Event Management institute. Not to be left behind with international collaborations, Kaziranga University has also collaborated with Nagasaki Wesleyan University and Silver Peak, Japan as a special initiative for exploring the opportunities of KU students in Japan, which has been attracting a large number of students from South and South East Asian countries.  

Promoting entrepreneurship with an aim of facilitating a culture of incubation and start-ups, KU has also recently partnered with Assam Startup – The Nest (a Govt. of Assam initiative) as its first academic partner to facilitate district level entrepreneurship through entrepreneurship development centers and incubation cells within the University. Another esteemed partner collaboration promoting entrepreneurship in the region is with the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) to collaborate in training, research, incubation and knowledge sharing in the areas of Entrepreneurship Education and Development.

In terms of International and national placements of students as well, Kaziranga University's performance has been remarkable. Like previous years, Kaziranga University has brought several renowned corporate houses and companies into the region and has encouraged them to establish facilities to cater to the needs of students, not only of Kaziranga University but all over the North-East.

As of 2019, Kaziranga University has had a total of 88 companies that have visited the University.  More than 450 job offers have been made to students, out of which 78 have been for those who are students of other institutions and colleges, spread over 20 campuses, such as Tezpur
