The School of Social Sciences (SSS) of The Assam Kaziranga University organized a short activity programme on malnutrition awareness among the children in Koraikhowa Nimno Buniyadi Vidyalay of Jorhat district of Assam on 8th April, 2022 as a part of concurrent fieldwork.
The students of BSW and MSW II semester working under the guidance of team supervisor, Dr. Saurabhi Sarmah, Associate Professor, School of Social Sciences, took the initiative to conduct this event. Then a game of identification was played where the participants had to identify the names of the fruits and vegetables and the students explained the health benefits of each. The children were also taught to sing Assamese rhymes about healthy fruits and vegetables by the students.
All of the conducted activities aimed at making the children aware about malnutrition and the importance of the intake of healthy food. The event concluded with distribution of food such as eggs, bananas and chocolates among the small children.
