For the first time in North East, on a revolutionary move, Kaziranga University in collaboration with IBM are all set to introduce IBM’s High End Career Oriented Programmes for the students of North East India. The initiative has been introduced by Mr. Philip Tasker, Program Director, IBM Systems and Technology Group (STG) University Program, POWER Academic Initiative Lead, STG, IBM on 17 May, 2016 at Kaziranga University during an interaction with the Faculty and students of the university. Also present at the occasion was Mr. Lalit Yagnik, Co- Founder & CEO, Skill Gap Solution Former Technical Director Head, IBM (Asia Pacific), Singapore. This will be the first of its kind in this region where a leading Global IT Company will start its technological programmes for the IT Students of NE. Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Tasker said “We are excited about our association with Kaziranga University. IBM and Kaziranga University will certainly make contributions in the progress of the region”. Mr. Yagnik also said that this programme will be a catalyst in bringing up standards of IT and ITS applications which is highly needed, now that Guwahati has been named as a smart city”. IBM has designed the course and the course delivery will be jointly done by Kaziranga University Faculties and resource persons from IBM and its approved partners. This kind of programme will increase the opportunity for bright IT students from North East to get high end jobs in IBM or its clients companies. A student who undergoes this programme will have the advantage of being 3 years ahead at the entry level. This programme will prepare a student to work on latest softwares and practices of IBM.
