The Assam Kaziranga University (KU) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE) on March 13, 2020 at the university campus at Koraikhowa, Jorhat. The MoU was signed and exchanged between Prof. Diganta Munshi, Registrar, KU and Dr Sriram Kannekanti, Director, Rural Management Program, MGNCRE. The MoU signing took place in the presence of Dr P.K. Mishra, Vice Chancellor, KU; Ms. Rainy Khetan, Director, KU; Dr. Braja Sundar Mishra, Dean, School of Social Sciences, KU and Prof. Dr P.G Ramesh, Professor and Dean, SET & COE, KU. The main objective behind this collaborative relationship is to promote educational linkage between both institutes by introducing the Rural Management Program at Masters and Bachelor level in KU with support from MGNCRE. As per the MoU, MGNCRE shall provide course curriculum and study material to the students and FDPs to the faculties of KU, and help the students participate in Summer Internship and Placements events at MGNCRE. MGNCRE shall also provide opportunities of industry –academic interface to the students and faculty of KU. The Assam Kaziranga University is the first university in the North-eastern region to enter into a collaborative relationship with MGNCRE to provide rural management courses to students of the entire region.
