The School of Business successfully organized the School of Business Futsal Tournament 2025, held from 22nd to 28th October 2025 at the University Football Ground. The week-long sports event was designed to foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy competition among students and faculty members.
The tournament featured six teams comprising 44 students and 4 faculty members, managed by the organizing committee members — Roktim Boruah, Priyam Kumar Baruah, and Jhonson Hajowary, under the guidance of Mr. Shivam Kakati.
Participating Teams
- Black-Scholes Barcelona: Deb Kumar Deb, Manheih Konyak, Kavi B Chishi, Roktim Boruah, Hirakjyoti Saikia, Sumit, Thuanchui Dangnli, and Podum Tanti.
- McGregor’s Real Madrid: Faculty Member Prakrit Saikia, Johnson Hajowary, Adihbi Sangtam, Arsod Hussain, Sourav Gogoi, Hoshepu H Zhimo, Raj Borgohain, and Debasish Hazarika.
- Marshall’s Manchester United: Faculty Member Shivam Kakoti, Bibham Dutta, Priyam Baruah, Toko Jim, Lakhya Pegu, Krishanu, Khrongben Thurr, and Devraj
- Lewin’s Liverpool FC: Anish Phukan, Longdiri Sangtam, Sadre Alam, Sushant Thapa, Ankur Phukan, Roshan Deori, Manash Jyoti Chetia, and Rahul Boruah.
- Porter’s Saint German: Faculty Member Kushanav Gautam, Anup Chetry, Sumit Chetry, Bikash Thapa, Arpan Bahadur Sumwar, Dikanglungbe, Raj Poudel, and Nabajyoti Gosh.
- Marcowitiz’ Bayern Munich: Faculty Member Bedanta Bikash Bora, Hiadi Michui, Firoj Ali, Rohan Chetry, Santosh Phukan, Piku Kumar, Riki Ranjan, and Priyanuj
Event Highlights
- Player Auction/Draft
The tournament commenced with a unique Player Auction/Draft, where six Team Owners — Debkumar Deb, Ankit Goyel, Krishna Agarwalla, Tariq Aziz, Raj Poudel, and Bedanta Bikash Bora — competitively selected players for their respective squads. The auction set an enthusiastic and competitive tone for the rest of the event.
- League Matches
The league stage witnessed intense matches marked by high skill levels, strategic gameplay, and commendable teamwork. Every team demonstrated perseverance and discipline, reflecting the essence of the School of Business’s commitment to holistic student development.
- Semi-Finals and Final
The semi-final matches saw tight competition leading up to the grand finale between Porter’s Saint Germanand Lewin’s Liverpool FC. The final was explosive from the opening whistle, with the first goal scored within just 45 seconds, setting an electrifying pace. Both teams displayed remarkable sportsmanship and technical brilliance, captivating the audience till the end.
Winners
The championship concluded on 28th October 2025, with Porter’s Saint German emerging as the Champions, securing an emphatic 8–2 victory over Lewin’s Liverpool FC. The winners were honored with the Championship Trophy and a cash prize in recognition of their outstanding performance.
