The Army Public School, Jorhat invited Dr Saurabhi Sarmah, Associate Professor, School of Social Sciences, The Assam Kaziranga Univeristy to conduct an orientation session on the topic Gender Sensitivity in Schools for the faculty members of the school on 26 May 2023. The orientation session was a part of the Annual In-service Training for the Teaching Staff of the school, and attended by more than 35 faculty members of the school. In her presentation, Dr Sarmah focused on the concept of gender sensitivity, it’s relevance in the current time, how to practice gender sensitivity in school, the role of school and family in promoting gender sensitivity etc. It was an interactive one which continued for more than two hours and received high accolade from Mrs Firdausi Sultana Hazarika, principal Army Public School, Jorhat and Mrs Jogmaya Hazarika, coordinator of the program, and the faculty members present in the session.
