Kaziranga University extends a warm welcome to Prof. (Dr.) Murari Lal Gaur, who has recently assumed office as Vice Chancellor. Soon after taking charge, he interacted with faculty members and the KU community in a cordial and meaningful exchange, marking a positive beginning to his tenure and reinforcing the University’s commitment to academic excellence, research advancement, and institutional growth.

Prof. (Dr.) Gaur brings with him over 41 years of distinguished experience across institutions such as ICAR, IIT Roorkee, and universities in seven states of India. A Ph.D. in Hydrology from IIT Roorkee, he has served as Vice-Chancellor, Principal Scientist (ICAR), and Founder Dean, with expertise in water resources management, climate-smart agriculture, digital and AI-enabled education, and NEP 2020 reforms. He has authored over 100 scholarly publications, guided more than 30 research scholars, and led several large-scale academic and infrastructure initiatives.
