Social Work Day celebrated at Assam Kaziranga University

The School of Social Sciences, Assam Kaziranga University  in collaboration with NSS Unit I celebrated Social Work Day at the university premises on 19th March 2024. The event was conducted at SET seminar hall from 1.30 pm onwards.  It was a vibrant and engaging event aimed at promoting community service and fostering a sense of social responsibility among students. The Registrar of Assam Kaziranga University, Dr. H. Ravishankar Kamath was invited as the chief guest and there were all the faculty members of the Social Science Department. The day was filled with various activities designed to encourage participation and collaboration.

One of the highlights at the event was the extempore speech competition, where students showcased their public speaking skills and shared insightful perspectives on social issues. Participants delivered impromptu speeches on topics ranging from Gender Equality to Renewable Resources and Role of Education to Role of Technology, captivating the audience with their ability to speak.

Another exciting activity that took place during the Social Work Day was the Treasure Hunt. Students formed teams consisting of 7 to 8 members each and embarked on an exhilarating quest across the campus, solving clues and puzzles related to the social causes. The treasure that was found by the students included craft items from which they were asked to make a model related to the theme “BUEN VIVIR”. The treasure hunt not only provided entertainment but also encouraged teamwork and problem solving skills among the participants.

Throughout the day, the atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm and energy as students actively participated in various events and activities. From engaging in the participation and encouraging the participants, everyone contributed in making the event a resounding success. The sense of unity among the participants was very enchanting, reflecting the spirit of social responsibility within the students. From its inception, the school of social sciences has been providing a platform for the students to  come together, learn, engage in meaningful dialogues and encourage teamwork pressing about the social activities. Throughout the activities such as the extempore speech and treasure hunt, students not only showcased their talents but also demonstrated their commitment to creating positive change in the society.
