The Five Days Social Sciences Winter School Workshop, a multidisciplinary induction programme for students of Social Sciences addressing issues related to Culture, Heritage, and Sustainability organized by School of Social Sciences, The Assam Kaziranga University and hosted by Lepcha Homestay, Lingthem, Dzongu successfully concluded on 1st January 2020. The intensive field-based workshop integrated interdisciplinary approaches related to Heritage, Oral Narratives, and Sustainability. In sum total, the workshop was designed to provide an academic platform to scholar participants in sharing ideas, views and epistemology regarding the community-based knowledge systems, which is different from the ones that drive the modern nation-states. The Winter School Workshop was the first of its kind in Sikkim. The inaugural address was held on 28th December 2019 at Gangtok. The field-based study commenced from 29th December onwards at Dzongu, North Sikkim and was complimented through class-based learning sessions by resource persons with expertise on diverse social sciences.
