40 students along with 3 teachers (Ms. Sangeeta Dutta, Mr. V K Rajeev, Ms. Rupali) from ATL (Atal Tinkering Lab - A NITI Ayog Initiative), Delhi Public School Numaligarh visited the KU School of Engineering, Technology & Management, Kaziranga University on 24-08-19 to feel and enrich their knowledge on innovation and cutting edge technology available in the present scenario. A four-hour-long visit included a talk by Dean-SET on idea generation, innovation, and projects, followed by an enriching visit of the students to the state of the art facilities of KU School of Engineering & Technology. The students got enthused on seeing the industrial robot by Tata, the automation lab by Bosch, Fluid machines, SKF lab, Water rocket developed by a team of civil engineering, Storm chaser- An electric solar Vehicle developed by the team Tejas, Accident detection and rescue system, Smart gloves for a blind person, etc. During the visit to the IBM center of excellence, Dr. Sajal Saha (DEAN Research and Innovation) explained Cloud Computing, Data Analytics, IoT and showed the projects made by the students e.g. CNC plotter, Miniature radar, Chatbot based talking robot (BBROID). A question-answer session conducted after the visit where students asked very interesting and highly technical questions and those questions were taken up by the faculty members and the Dean. A Team from KU School of Engineering, Technology, and Management will be mentoring the students of Atal Tinkering Lab in DPS Numaligarh for innovative projects and national championships.
