The Department of Optometry, The Assam Kaziranga University, organized a one-day Workshop on Ocular Prosthesis on 12/09/2025 at SET Seminar Hall. The workshop aimed to provide participants with both theoretical knowledge and hands-on training in the fabrication, fitting, and care of ocular prostheses.
The sessions covered impression techniques, wax conformer fabrication, iris painting, and polishing, along with patient counselling and aftercare. Students and faculty actively participated in the interactive demonstrations, gaining valuable clinical exposure under expert guidance.
The event concluded with positive feedback from participants, who appreciated the opportunity to bridge academic learning with practical application. The workshop proved to be a significant step in preparing future optometrists to deliver effective ocular rehabilitation and improve patients’ quality of life.
