International Women's Day Celebrated with great success at Assam Kaziranga University

The Women cell of Assam Kaziranga University in collaboration with School of Social Sciences and NCC cell KU celebrated International Women's Day with full enthusiasm. The celebration took place on 8th March, 2024 at the main auditorium of KU.

Dr. Achana. S. Bhattacharjee, former academic vice principal of Kakojan College, Jorhat was invited as the guest of honor for the celebration. The event started with lighting of the lamp by all the dignitaries which Included honorable vice chancellor of Assam Kaziranga University, Dr. P K Mishra, Dr. Archana S Bhattacharya, the invited speaker and guest of honor and Dr. H Ravishankar Kamath, registrar, Assam Kaziranga University.

The event started with a bhakti vandana by Dhriti Dhara Bharadwaj,a  student of School of Pharmacy, KU.. This was followed by the inaugural speech delivered by the vice chancellor, Dr. PK Mishra where he praised and encouraged the womanhood of  KU. This was followed by a speech by the registrar of KU, Dr. H. Ravishankar Kamath. In his speech Dr Kamath shared his  journey of working with women in different workplaces and appreciated their passionate and progressive mindset. This was followed by the felicitation and speech by Dr. Archana S Bhattacharjee who enlightened the gathering by her motivating words.

The event included various interesting sessions like " Let's hear from her '' where the faculties and staff members of the university performed various activities. There was also a presentation by the Cadets of NCC Cell KU  on their journey. The cultural  celebration came to an end with a beautiful drama performance  " Eti Khuj'', performed by the students of Assam Kaziranga University.  The entire event came to an end  with a vote of thanks delivered by the Associate professor, KUSSS and chairperson of KU Women Cell, Dr. Saurabhi SarmaH.
