Northeast India. Optical Lenses is an integral part of Optometry in which it includes the making of optical lenses for prescriptions of corrective lenses and fitting of the lenses in a spectacle frame for correction of vision.

The B. Optometry, 6^th Semester Students in total around 19 students had visited the manufacturing unit. The students had an interactive session and were given a hands on about the various methods and procedures involved in a making an optical lens and how the final product of the lens has been made from a raw material. The students were also able to understand about the various lens materials, thickness and its impact while framing in a spectacle frame. They were able to learn about the fitting of a lens in different spectacle frames. Progressive lenses and its various methods involved in fitting a progressive lenses to a spectacle frame.

The Students had an interactive Session with the Regional Head of Essilor where they learned and were able to explore about the various Lens material, protective coatings and were able to have hands on session about the various lenses used for myopia therapy.
