Rangoli Making and Diya Design Competitions as part of Pre-Diwali Celebration

Organised by the Literary Club, Art and Culture Club, and Entrepreneurship Club
Date: 16th October 2025

As part of the Pre-Diwali Celebration, the Literary Club, Art and Culture Club, and Entrepreneurship Club of the university jointly organised two vibrant events Rangoli Making Competition and Diya Design Competition on 16th October 2025. The celebrations aimed to promote creativity, teamwork, and festive spirit among students while fostering cultural appreciation and community bonding.

The campus came alive with colours, lights, and festive cheer as participants showcased their artistic talents and innovative ideas. The Rangoli Making Competition featured mesmerizing designs that beautifully blended tradition with modern artistry. The winners were:

  • 1st Prize: School of Pharmacy
  • 2nd Prize: School of Health Sciences
  • 3rd Prize: School of Basic Sciences

The Diya Design Competition further illuminated the occasion, as students crafted intricately designed diyas reflecting creativity, devotion, and the essence of Diwali. The winners were:

  • 1st Prize: Sanchaita Barat – BBA, School of Business
  • 2nd Prize: Suchitra Sonowal – AIT, School of Health Sciences
  • 3rd Prize: Pankhi Borpatra Gohain – MBA, School of Business

The competitions were judged by Mr. Parash M. Borthakur and Mr. Syed Mominul Islam, whose valuable insights and encouragement added great motivation to the participants. The prize distribution ceremony was conducted by the judges in the presence of the Literary Club mentors, Ms. Eikjyot Kour and Ms. Jayashree Devi, along with the mentor of the Art and Culture Club, Dr. Just Merry A. B. Marak.

During the event, a heartfelt tribute was paid to the legendary singer Zubeen Garg, honouring his immense contribution to Assamese music and culture. The tribute created an emotional and reflective atmosphere, uniting everyone in remembrance of his remarkable legacy.

The event concluded with an atmosphere filled with colours, music, and togetherness. The competitions not only highlighted the artistic flair of the participants but also strengthened the sense of community and cultural pride, making the pre-Diwali celebration a memorable success.
